Ever notice those perfectly pruned trees that adorn the lawns of suburbia? Well, I have.
I find them curious. They remind of the Lego trees I played with as a kid when I was building houses out of white, red and yellow blocks. Sculpted and surreal, pretty trees epitomize humanity's urge to control nature. I admire the shapes and forms of the trees, whether they be 30ft giants or 5ft shrubs.
My goal for the project was not to create works of art so much as to document the trees with point-and-shoot simplicity. The photographs above are a small sampling of a growing collection I've titled Pretty Trees. If you'd like to see the rest of the collection, please visit my Flickr page.
